THE SINGAPORE GRIP

Whilst at Peerless as a VFX Assistant, I had the opertunity to work on creating CG assets for a show we were working on at the time, "The Singapore Grip". I created a number of CG assets and used them to render out the CG passes for various shots.

CG Sampans

I created a variety of CG boats, called "Sampans", from scratch using reference material. I modelled and textured the boats myself and animated them to be used in a number of shots. I set up the scenes, lit them and rendered them out to be used by the comp team.

CG Catalina

As part of "The Singapore Grip" project I was also tasked with re-working a CG model that we had purchased from TurboSquid. The model was of a plane called a "Catalina". It was my job to re-topologise the mesh as well as re do the textures so that it matched the type of Catalina we needed.

THE SPANISH PRINCESS

During my time as a VFX Assistant at Peerless, I had the opportunity to work on several CG shots. Some of these shots were for the TV show "The Spanish Princess". These were my first CG shots in the VFX industry.

Crossbow Firing

My first CG shot was to add a crossbow bolt firing from the crossbow. The bolt had already been modelled and textured for a previous shot. It was my job to animate it firing from the bow.

Paper in the wind

My next CG task for this show was to animate a piece of paper blowing away in the wind. The paper gets let go, out of the window and gets caught in the wind. I modelled, textured, lit and animated this shot. Below is a time-lapse image of the shot.
